Ó£ÌÒÖ±²¥'s "Sting" Precision Flight Team is hosting a pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, in the LETU hangar at the Abbott Aviation Center, 200 Airpark Drive, at East Texas Regional Airport. Breakfast includes pancakes, bacon, sausage and drinks, with a suggested donation of $5 per person.
Proceeds will fund the team's expenses for the upcoming national competition of the National Intercollegiate Flying Association Safety and Flight Evaluation Conference (NIFA SAFECON) at The Ohio State University May 11-16.
Several vintage aircraft, along with LETU's fleet of 15 airplanes, will be on display.
"We hope the Longview community will come out and support our pancake breakfast, to help us raise the $12,000 we need to compete," said Cullen Hippler, sophomore flight team member from Bullard, Texas. "We are excited to represent LeTourneau and the Longview area at this national competition. All of the student pilots who will be competing at NIFA will be cooking and serving that day."
Over a dozen students and faculty are planning to attend the national competition. LETU's flight team won First Place in regionals in October, qualifying for the honor to compete nationally.
